I had my art to console me when I moved to a new town, it helped to make new friends, too. I prided myself on being a self-taught artist but I now see how closed minded I was. I was raised in the Rocky Mountain states, we moved quite a bit, and I went to 3 different high schools in other states. I had my art to console me when I moved to a new town, it helped to make new friends, too. I prided myself on being a self-taught artist but I now see how closed minded I was. I'd see another artist work, I'd like their style and mimic it, I would make my own mistakes, but I would learn from it. Sometimes I'd come up with a different or new paint stroke. Now, that I'm almost 70 years old, I can't get enough art information. It's like my eyes are now open everything is new in the art world. I'm excited about what I'll be creating next.
